Proxima Control is a progressive rock/metal band founded In the fall of 2009, when guitarists and founders John P. and Matt Z. were sold fake tickets to a Metallica concert. Angered but inspired, the duo decided to pursue their dream and start a rock band of their own. A time of searching bore fruit in finding the talented and like-minded singer Jack Hope and bassist Ben Souder. Following the release of their first demo in 2011, the quartet recruited the precocious Matt Lippa on drums.
In March 2012, Proxima Control won recording time at a battle of the bands competition with Supernova.com. After recording their debut EP, "Inertia Massacre", the quintet began a relentless tour through the NYC club circuit, ending with a spectacular show in Washington DC in August. Proxima Control's sound can be described as a precarious trip through heaven and hell, channeling ominous vibes and scorching instrumentals.
