THANKS for stopping by the JUSTIN CASE band page at REVERBNATION. Please join REVERBNATION and become a fan of JUSTIN CASE today!
JUSTIN CASE's performing experience dates back to the late 1960's in San Francisco. He appeared regularly on stage alongside the Flaming Groovies, and other well-known bands of that era. He worked with the Rowan Brothers in the early 70's. The original JUSTIN CASE band was born in the late 1970's at State College, PA, where JUSTIN CASE financed his education playing in various bars and small venues almost nightly.
JUSTIN CASE lived in Nashville for over a decade, working at various record companies, and again virtually supporting himself through live performance. One one occasion the "reincarnated" Justin Case Band opened for the band Orleans. This show was broadcast live over the radio. Two of the better-known musicians JUSTIN CASE backed up on stage during this period are Chuck Berry and Johnny Cash.
It was during this period that JUSTIN CASE met the great, late singer-songwriter-composer Mickey Newbury. A great friendship and mentorship began and continued until Newbury's death in 2002. In 1990, Newbury was so impressed with "Silver Quarter", JUSTIN CASE's original song about cinema's singing cowboys, that he arranged for JUSTIN CASE to perform the song at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony. JUSTIN CASE received a standing ovation from the attending songwriters and music experts for this performance. JUSTIN CASE attributes much of his songwriting talent to the supportive, often humorous, always wise advice of his dear friend and mentor, Mickey Newbury.
Later in the early 1990's, upon learning that he would soon be the father of triplets (3 boys!), JUSTIN CASE made the difficult decision to return home to California and put his music career temporarily on hold. JUSTIN CASE's sons are 18 now and off to college, and he is enthusiastic about picking up more or less where he left off. Over the past 6 months he's appeared regularly at Angelina's Wed. Open Mic at both the River Theater and Bullpen in Guerneville, as well as several less formal, more impromptu appearances at the River Theater and Bullpen.
JUSTIN CASE has recently discovered a great love for playing music outdoors in downtown Guerneville, Sebastopol, and the general Russian River area. Many times over the last year JUSTIN CASE has been known to wander down to the Plaza or thereabouts, set up his equipment, and perform an informal "concert" simply for the joy of it! JUSTIN CASE also plays and sings regularly either as a soloist or with the Praise Team at Forestville United Methodist Church, where he and his wife are members.
JUSTIN CASE plays a great deal of his own original music. Eleven of these songs will be included on the upcoming "Love Could've Been a Contender" album. There will be a twelth song available for download exclusively to JUSTIN CASE fans. Don't miss the hauntingly beautiful "Hole in the Ceiling", which uses significant moments in JUSTIN CASE's life to summarize all he's learned over the years.
JUSTIN CASE is planning another album for next year, to be titled "Justin Chicks Out". It will include some duets and four songs that he has written for female vocals.
JUSTIN CASE also has a list of 120 or so popular cover songs from widely varied genres. Examples of artists heavily represented on this list: George Strait, Hank Williams, Van Morrison, Eagles, Joe Cocker, Bob Seger, Marshall Tucker Band, Johnny Russell, Bob Dylan, Allman Brothers, Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt, The Band, Charley Pride, Lynard Skynard, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Buffett and so on.
