Formed in April 1999 under the name Oblivion they started playing European death metal which is their style today. Name changed to Syrgjyn (imprisonment/banish for the ideas/morals/religion you suport) in 2003 adding industrial touches here and there and heavy metal melodic elements in guitars and vocals.
They always perform as a trio:
Gjergj Mero: Guitars / Vocals
Olsi Gjondedaj: Bass
Dritan Mesareja: Drums
Their album Manifest of Essence in 2010 was a self release and the first death metal album to ever hit the Albanian music stores.
It contains an extended intro, six official tracks and a bonus track in goth/electro style and in Albanian language.
Today they are aiming to play outside Albania in Festivals or clubs around Europe. Being a weekly live act for more than 5 years in the most known Metal Club in Tirana (Alkimi Overworld) their range of original music and rock/metal covers starts from early Rolling Stones, Uriah Heep and AC/DC to Maiden, from Tiamat And Type O Negative to Burzum, Impaled Nazarene and Venom, from Metallica, Slayer, to Sodom, Pantera and Morbid Angel and more and more.
If you check their timeless music on YouTube you will surprisingly find out a straight to the core metal, old school style but fresh in ideas and unique/melodic atmosphere.
You won't regret checking out a band you will love for the rest of your days.
