An eclectic group of players with a mix of songs that defy easy categorization, HotWingJones has been a mainstay in the Central Pennsylvania music scene for over 10 years. Not quite a classic rock band, and not quite a roots rock band, HotWingJones feels familiar, but sounds different. Some have called HotWingJones a garage band for grown-ups. Whatever the description, a testament to their loyal fans, the band has the distinction of being voted by the readers of Harrisburg Magazine the "Simply the Best" local band in 2004 and 2005, and has received the "Readers Choice Award" in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2005, HotWingJones teamed up with veteran NEPA producer/musician Bret Alexander (The Badlees, Breaking Benjamin) at Saturation Acres Recording Studio to record their debut EP, “Saturated,” a varied blend of original road-tested tunes. Bret is noted both locally and nationally for being the main songwriter and multi-instrumentalist for The Badlees as well as for his stellar production of singer-songwriters and up and coming artists. HotWingJones reunited with Bret for their sophomore effort, Tanker A & Other Short Stories, a full length album that is even more diverse than their original offering and that was released to critical acclaim. In the end, HotWingJones is just five guys writing some good tunes, and having as much fun as possible while on stage.
