Lauren Tate is a singer songwriter from Yorkshire, UK. She has just turned 17 and has just launched her first ‘Pledge Music.’ Campaign to release her first EP.
In the first 24 hours Lauren hit over 50% of her target and achieved her funding goal in just 4 days. Testament to the huge online following that Lauren has created.
For the past few years Lauren has been developing her craft, writing, recording and doing a series of acoustic gigs. Most of the focus to date, mainly due to her age, has been about creating an online presence, with nearly a million views on her YouTube covers, a social media fan-base of over 20,000 and achieving No.1 on the Reverbnation singer/songwriter charts for her local area and No.8 Nationally.
Lauren, who is managed NineLives Uk, the same label as Blues Garage rockers ‘The Graveltones’ was invited to sing on the Graveltones debut Album ‘Don’t Wait Down’ last year. The Australian duo approached Lauren after hearing her rendition of Led Zeppelin classic “Whole Lotta Love” on YouTube, which has over 250’000 views. Her vocals on the track “Crime to be Talkin" have been highly acclaimed and the track is a firm favourite for many Graveltones fans.Lauren takes her musical influences from singers Linda Perry, Robert Plant, Pink, Amanda Plant, But it is difficult to put this music in a box, which is exactly how Lauren wants it. Songs like ‘Take me Away” off the EP demonstrate Laurens reluctance to fit in and do what is expected of her. Lauren is driven by the desire to release her creativity and have complete freedom in her musical style. Is there a new place in the industry for someone like Lauren?
