Conner Joyce, a Boston Native, shows his eclectic taste for music through his sophisticated songwriting, honest lyrics and solid groove. “I remember hearing The Beatles on a family road trip to Canada one summer, I must have been 12 years old. All I remember is immediately having an emotional connection to the music. Jimmy Page made me pick up the guitar, so you can see what sort of musical roots I came from”.
He received his first guitar as a birthday present for his 14th Birthday. From there it was dipping and delving into many different styles for the now 23 year old, a Berklee College of Music Graduate. At Berklee, Conner became heavily influenced by the “American Roots” music, that being mainly Blues and Jazz. “There is nothing like the sound of the Basie Orchestra in full swing, or a Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar solo, or even a Beethoven Symphony, to me these artists ‘feel’ their music, that’s what I am trying to do with my music, as honestly as I can”.
The winter of 2011 proved to be productive as Conner teamed up with songwriter/vocalist Lily McCune to release his first studio EP called "Possibilities" which is available right here on the Facebook artist page. Lily is featured on two tracks. Feel free to send a message with your address if you would like a hard copy!
Conner’s fusion of Acoustic Folk, Jazz, and Singer/Songwriter style is a brand rarely seen in the “Bubble Gum” Pop world of today, with its sophistication and charm.
