First Album "Jay" (7.26.11.)
Jay W. is a solo Pop singer. Born in Ann Arbor, Mi on May 14, 1995, and raised in Taylor, Mi for 12 years of his life. Jay W. was always interested in music, and loved to express his love for music. In the middle of 2009, him and a very close cousin decided to start writing music, just for fun. They later created a Pop duo known as PCT (Progress Comes in Time). They recorded many songs together and scheduled a release for an album. When they formed the duo, their friends and family were very excited, especially after the release of their first single "Ride or Die". The single did very well locally, after the release of it on iTunes. It reached #69 on onlylyrics.com on the Pop charts. It was a very small, but highly congratulated accomplishment. PCT performed "Ride or Die" at the "Youth On Fire" event for their church in October 2010, and did very well. They called it "The Performance of the Night". As time went by, PCT didn't make it. Interests went other wise with both Jay W. and ClassyTee.
After the break up of PCT, Jay W. was heart broken. He felt he put his all in, and he missed being with ClassyTee musically. He soon turned all that emotion, into a solo project. From February to June of 2011, he took time to produce beats he could use for a solo project. He entitled his first solo project "Revolution", and later changed it to "Jay". He recorded the album in 2 weeks and released the album July 26. The album was his debut and people seemed to be excited for it, but he did not get the response he wanted. He felt like that project was a failure.
After the release of "Jay", Jay W. got right back to work in September of 2011. Recording, writing, and producing for another album. He released the lead single "True Power" November 17 which got positive feedback immediately. He felt he was on the right path. Jay W. later named his second album "I Am...". He released "Next Ex" as the second single to the album and went on to release the album January 31, 2012. It was his best album to date, and got very positive feedback. Jay W. felt he did things right this time. He took a new route on the album. He says, "I went in the path of radio hits, but also put what I was feeling on paper. At that time I felt excited, I wanted to dance, I wanted to do things simultaneously, and that's why there are so many up-tempos on the album." As he later listened to the album over and over again he realized the songs were great, but the production wasn't as good as it should have been. Jay W. got right back to work.
In April 2012, Jay W. got to work on a third album. He had one goal: MAKE A GREAT ALBUM! He wanted production, vocals, lyrics, and the motivation of this album to be 100% even. He wanted no back slides. He went on to release the lead single "One Man Army" and got side ways feedback on the single. He feared this was going to be a "flop" album, but he kept believing this was going to be right. He went to release the second single "Fight For You" featuring Singer-Boi, which got amazing feedback. He knew he was on the right path. He named his third album "Joseph", and it bought home amazing feedback. He knew he done things right this time musically.
