Music has meant a great deal to me throughout my life, guiding me through bad times, making good times even better. I'm sure you can relate. I've been writing, recording and sometimes performing for awhile now (there have been many adventures), with the only goal being to create music that has the same effect on others.
My music is probably best described as folk music with big guitars. At least that's what I aspire to.
Biggest musical inspiration (I'm pretending you asked)? That would be Big Country, particularly the guitar playing and lyric writing of Stuart Adamson. But there are so, so many people I've been influenced by, spanning many genres: The Clash, Kate Bush, Pogues, White Stripes ... too many to name.
Guitar is my main instrument, but I play all instruments here except drums. I can mentally play the drums, but physically? Not so much. So, they've been programmed unless otherwise noted. Yeah, that's me singing, too, for better or worse.
You'll also notice some instrumentals. That's because I've written music for a number of outside projects, predominantly for my work with the Washington Redskins as a video editor. I contributed a number of original pieces of music to two Emmy-winning Redskin documentaries (one of which I also edited). You can also hear my metal version of "Hail to the Redskins," which was the theme for "Redskins Gameday" for 4 years, a show that aired locally in the D.C. area. I've also written a jingle for a national, nonprofit student organization (where I just happen to work) called SkillsUSA.
I hope to have some new stuff out in the near future. As a relatively new parent, music creation time has taken a big hit lately. I've written a ton of stuff, but recording it is a different story, so you'll just have to take my word for it for now.
Thanks so much for listening. Would love to hear your comments.
