Paul Hage Mirage / Bio

Paul Joseph Hage: (Lead Guitarist, Keyboard)
Born in Syracuse, N.Y. and raised in San Diego, California. Paul came from a musical family. From the age of 9, he grew up performing on stage with his father Antoine, a master Oud (lute) player and Violinist, specializing in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Music, at their supper club Hajji Baba, in San Diego. Paul had to utilize unique scales and altered tunings on both the Keyboard and Oud. From early on he would fuse this style with his interest in Contemporary Jazz and New Age Music. Besides being an accomplished Guitarist and Keyboardist, he is considered among his peers as one of the top percussionists of Middle Eastern drums in the country. Paul graduated from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communication, with a B.S. in Producing for Electronic Media, and an M.F.A. graduate in Media Study from the University at Buffalo. He has composed numerous soundtracks for film and video which has earned him 3 National Telly Awards. He was the lead Sound Designer for the Motion Picture production company Four Square, ("Attack of the Killer Tomatoes"),in San Diego. In addition to composing, Paul produces video documentaries, and other media productions, many that focus on his interest in public health issues, and the upstate NY region. Paul and his band Mirage can be seen in performances around New York State, and throughout the country.
