Jake Foan is the rarest of artists: a pop singer/songwriter - with catchy melodic hooks that you can sing along to - a first class pianist, and a storyteller with a strong personality that is infused into all his songs and performances. Think Michael Bublé, Elton John, Jeff Buckley.
Born in a Devonshire bubble, Jake, born completely deaf in his right ear and unable to communicate properly until the age of 6; discovered a piano in his friend’s house at the age of 5, and played it until he’d written his first composition, and found keys to a world of expression he had not yet had access to.
Jake’s teen years were spent honing his piano skills - winning a variety of competitions and experimenting with writing styles - studying Debussy and Jeff Buckley alike. As opposed to History homework, Jake spent his hours writing songs and saving money for music lessons.
From the age of 19, Jake spent four years in intensive private singing training - funded with the money he made from Devonshire gigs, busking and weddings. To gain further performing experience Jake earned the title of the youngest Singer/Pianist on board Royal Caribbean cruise ships and spent a number of months playing to inebriated Norwegians and retired Miami housewives begging for one more rendition of “You’re Beautiful”. After a period in Los Angeles as a working musician, Jake returned to London and set up a small studio in his room.
Jake Foan captivates the listener, allowing them to experience a rich musical journey with memorable hooks and cinematic landscapes. Whether singing about unrequited love and heartbreak, or flying away like Superman, Jake Foan brings a unique vocal style and technical ability to his music with the rare ability to evoke a tear one moment, and bring on a reminiscent smile the next.
