Josiah grew up around classic country music, bluegrass and classic rock. He also developed a connection with the blues. It was Jimmie Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn that made himpick up the guitar at 14 with a desire to be a guitar slinging blues legend but life brought him in a slightly different direction. He cut his teeth the first few years of learning guitar on worship teams during the summer at Bible Camp and in a year at college, a wanna be rock band, and country gospel worship leading at church with his father. The bands scattered and life happened leaving him alone with a guitar forcing open a creative door to more raw and vulnerable art. He joined the Marine Corps in 2008 wanting to get out of Northern Minnesota where he was stuck in a dead end small town "treading water" at 24 years old working gas stations and grocery stores. he needed to find a way out of his wonderful but limiting stomping grounds. The Corps by the grace of God put him in the beautiful sunny land of southern California. In the Spring of 2010 he started really writing hard again and summer 2010 started playing open mics at The Royal Dive in Oceanside. Now in school in San Diego he plays locally around the San Diego open mic circuit and hopefully starting to play more shows that allow for more performance time and exposure then just the small regular open mic crowd.
