LayD StayC / Bio

StayC Bermudez, stage name LayD StayC, is a 22 year old lyricist, singer, and songwriter from the South Bronx of New York City. Rapping and singing since the age of eight, LayD grew up in Millbrook projects where poverty, violence, and drugs were and still are prevalent means of living. These circumstances fueled her motivation to continue to perfect her musical talents as an avenue to escape the harsh realities of living in the ghetto. Her influences include Tupac, Lauryn Hill, Styles P, Jadakiss, Kanye West, Lyfe Jennings, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, J. Cole, Bob Marley, Malcolm X, KRS One, and her most current favorite, Loaded Lux.

LayD StayC has been blessed with the opportunity to perform locally; first venue being Boogie Mics in the Bronx, abroad for Binghamton University student groups where she currently studies, has opened up for Jim Jones at the Ice House nightclub in Binghamton, NY along side LoKey & iGroove, and has opened for Fred the Godson, Papoose, & Ron Browz in They've Got Skills' Concert Series in Brooklyn, NY.

LayD StayC is currently completing her first mixtape “The Adventures of Sour Puff Girl”. This mixtape will include remixes to industry beats she loves showing off her unique flow, wordplay, and lyrical talent. StayC hopes to grab the ears and hearts of rap fans worldwide preparing them for her upcoming projects where she shall shift her fan’s expectations of “rap music” while exposing them to REAL HIPHOP.
