The Jump Off / Bio

The Jump Off is a frenetic, thumping rock trio from Regina, Saskatchewan. Formed during the summer of 2008, the post-punk crew laces their dance-punk flavor with synthesizers and programmed drums, leaving them with a sound comparable to groups such as Fugazi, LCD Soundsystem and The Hives.

In early 2011 they released their debut EP ‘Pillaging’ on Harvest King Records. Pillaging defined the group’s frantic dance-floor ready sound, making for a record that sounds immediate, sexy and full of bombast.

Now, in November of 2013, The Jump Off return with their self-titled debut full-length album. ‘The Jump Off’ features eleven tracks that build and expand the sound forged on their previous release, while retaining its strong rhythm section and immediacy. The record is laden with new sounds thanks to a larger emphasis on electronics and a more concise approach to songwriting resulting in a record that’s both heavier and danceable.

Over the past few years they have built an energetic and emotional live show opening for various local and national acts including Living With Lions, The Famines and Molten Lava and have received regular local airplay on 91.3 CJTR and 104.9 The Wolf. In addition, they’ve toured Western Canada while headlining local venues including O’Hanlon’s, The Exchange and The Mercury.

The group is currently touring in support of their debut album.
