Dead Swagger’s sound is a hard one to place but most say it has a distinctive older sounding flair, which makes sense as Spencer’s powerful baritone sounds like it came out of the roaring 20’s. The body of the group falls to Payton Whites fast talented hands blending old jazz, and rag time with distinctly epic sounding accompaniment. Scott Osment is responsible for keeping the tunes dark yet danceable with his fast infectious drum beats.
The group began playing around Austin playing with various musicians. They took second place in the my band rocks Fox under 21 contest. And played Mardi Gras Galveston along with Band Aid music fest. in 2011
There is a distinct suave romance about Dead Swagger. A kind of bipolar wonder that could take you from shuddering to flying in just a quick key change, The lyrics could remind someone of the fast paced dialogues in movies of old along with a nice croon here and there. Dead Swagger's mission is to bring back that old allure that is conveyed in film noirs and black and white movies. Where guys where suave and girls where alluring. So enjoy as they mourn that Golden Age.
Dead Swagger Expects to release their second EP- TANGO KNIFE FIGHT this upcoming summer
