Convolve / Bio

Convolve started in December of 2009, when guitarist Ryan Benton and bassist Alex Buhlig started jamming on material Ryan had been writing over the years. Both parties instantly liked what they were hearing and how good the chemistry was between the two of them. They began writing through the spring and summer of 2010, collecting riffs, writing melodies, so on and so on. In July of 2010, Alex put up a listing on craigslist for a drummer. The first contact we got (only contact actually) was drummer Tyler O'Brien. Tyler's style gelled with what the two were doing and after two practices in August 2010, became a full member of Convolve. Ryan and Wes go back to fall of 2007, when Wes and Ryan were playing in the Million Dollar band at the University of Alabama. The two occasionally saw each other over the years until a chance meeting at a football game in October 2010. After talking about music for a few hours, Wes was invited to come jam with us. After a few practices, it was obvious that Wes added a new dimension to our sound that was completely unique and exciting. Wes was offered to be a full member of Convolve as pretty much anything he wanted to be (mainly keyboards and vocals) later that month.

Convolve's first release, and EP, Tethered to Trees was recorded in December of 2010 and as of February 2011 is currently being mixed and mastered. On February 3, a demo version of the single off their debut EP, Thoughts of Flight, was released on their facebook page.

Convolve is currently in the early writing stages of their first full length.
