Oleg Raileanu, is Toronto, Ontario, Canada based singer/songwriter. Currently he is an externally active part of “Essentially, the Sound” creative duo.
He was born in Chisinau, the nice green capital city of Republic of Moldova (Eastern Europe). Back home Oleg was a part of a few bands. The most known was Yellow Milk (http://www.myspace.com/yellowmilk1), one of the first bands which promoted alternative music in Moldova. He recorded 2 albums as a singer of Yellow Milk: Bad Cow and Last in Moldova: Inhale and Exhale. Yellow Milk visual performance was very close at some points to concept of body art, which was made possible with substantial contribution from Oleg’s performance.
From May 2007 Oleg moved to Toronto Canada. In Toronto after first period of surviving, when the things settled a bit, he started to search to resume his musical dream. That was a difficult task, but he had a bit of luck. He became a singer of a few bands with different directions in music, like N-usual (jazz rock, blues, funk - http://www.myspace.com/nusual), X sound (indie pop rock - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZvLIb2X5SU), Content Overload (corporate cover band - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ukq0mS5NLrw&sns=fb, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7YHjwKzp3w&sns=fb, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeBu_gI4TFo&sns=fb).
At the beginning of 2010 Oleg and Alex Grigoriev his friend and coauthor from Moldova decided to start a new project “Essentially, the Sound.” The material from this page was written for that project.
