Prince-Donavan was born Prince Donavan Alexander Huffman on October 13, 1985 to Evelyn and Leonard Huffman in Dothan, Alabama. He is the second child of his mother’s four children. Prince-Donavan and his other three siblings were raised by their mother in Birmingham, Alabama. At the age of two years old, he began experimenting with instruments by beating on his babysitter’s piano. At the age of nine, he joined his elementary school concert band and began writing music. By the time he was 15, he was able to play all of the musical instruments in the brass family. Although music was his first love, he placed it aside to pursue basketball. Whenever he wasn’t practicing or playing in games, he made time to write lyrics and poetry. After his high school senior year, he no longer had a drive to continue chasing basketball. He then decided to go back to his first love, his true passion, which was music.
In 2010, Prince Donavan decided to leave the streets of Birmingham, Alabama and move to Pensacola, Florida to pursue his music career full-time. His music has been described as “Unique southern sound mixed with an articulate approach.” He is on the road to becoming a stand out superstar.
His musical influences include Jay Z, Andre 3000, Scarface, Tupac, and TI.
