Pairing adventurous acoustic rock cover music with innovative and addictive originals, Electric Snack covers all the ground a music lover could ask for. Every song makes you move whether you’re stuck to your seat or out on the dance floor.
Jay Rath hails originally from upstate New York and was raised in a musical family. A drummer from the age of six, Jay excelled in stage band, formed neighborhood bands with other musicians in the area, and attended Berklee College of Music. Jay pursued piano and guitar as well as pursuing his penchant for drums and continued to play, sing and write his own songs after moving to Los Angeles. Although he had encouraging and positive feedback with his original music in Los Angeles, his love for nature brought him to Truckee, and then to the Wood River Valley of Idaho. Jay splits his time in music between drumming and vocals for local cover band Hoodwink and Electric Snack, but this original band is the culmination of Jay’s penchant for something original and musically ‘just a little different’.
A founding member of Electric Snack, Paula Rath is no stranger to the stage. Years of playing with Who Dat Blues, Relix and originals band Red Tara in Sacramento, groomed Paula for her introduction to Jay Rath and his original music. When they met in 2003, their first musical collaboration became known as Clean Dog Head followed by a CD of the same name and included some of Paula’s own original music as well. Harmonies, though, are what Paula likes best, and she has an exciting challenge harmonizing with Jay on his unpredictable and memorable melodies.
