A Heavy Metal band that was formed towards the end of 2010 and has gained popularity rapidly in the Metal Industry in Sri Lanka.
During the few months of their existence, CryWolf has already shared the stage with Stigmata (The Pioneers of Heavy Metal in Sri Lanka) twice.
The uniqueness of CryWolf is the influence of Power and Thrash Metal styles in their music. While majority of the bands in Sri Lanka are inclined to Death Metal and Black Metal, CryWolf's act stands out with the melodic, high pitched, clean vocal style and Power Metalish musical style which uniquely differentiates the band from the norms of the industry.
The band is currently very popular for covering Iron Maiden tracks and Pantera tracks that have not been covered in its entirety, in their original pitch and feel, for a long time in concerts that have taken place in the country. CryWolf has included The Trooper, Hallowed Be Thy Name, and The Wicker Man by Iron Maiden, Cowboys from Hell and Cemetry Gates by Pantera, so far in their set lists.
The band resently ended up being the Runners up of TNL onstage 2011 (the biggest compettition for Rock bands in the country) and released their debut single "The Wind" following their accomplishment.
