Meadower are an indie- pop, post-punk outfit who create sonic and audio art. With a sound and style reminiscent of Minus the Bear, and a grungy undertone that is uniquely their own, this band is poised to take on the Detroit DIY scene. Pulling from favorites ranging from The Foo Fighters and Sunny Day Real Estate, to Television and Arcade Fire, this band borrows all the right techniques from their bevy of influences. "All of the instruments have a defined personality. The guitars are a just as interesting as the vocal melody or the bass line," said Provost. Their music ability is unquestionable and each song brings something different to the table, from the haunting bass driven opening track, "Family Tree" to the windows down energy of their single "Fisher's Hook." With thoughtful lyrics, earnest vocals, catchy hooks, and jam heavy breaks, Meadower has found its place as a genre blurring troupe of DIY dudes. They have created a sound that is as dynamic and engaging as it is head bob provoking and grin inducing. "I once heard the lead singer of Arcade Fire say, "there's a healthy degree of 'not giving a fuck' in this band and I think that describes us really well -- we try not to take ourselves too seriously" Matt jokes.
