Johnny Stanec is a singer/songwriter from Youngstown, OH. Since 2006 he has been a member of the band, First In Space, of which he is also a founding member. In between FIS records, Johnny releases solo albums. His first, 2011's 'Narrow Is This Ghost Town', was recorded, mixed and mastered by Josh Roman at MindRocket Studios in West Middlesex, PA. After a good reception, Johnny returned to work on his follow-up, 'The Past Echoes'. Released in late 2012, the record was warmly received by critics and landed on some year-end best of lists in the underground music community. After several small tours as a solo performer, Johnny returned full-time to his band, First In Space. During 2013 and 2014 the band released two more full-length records and played shows throughout the mid-west and east coast. Now in 2015, Johnny is returning his focus to his solo project. His third full-length solo record will be released in April 2015. It is called 'No Horizon' and features ten new songs. Most of Johnny's recordings are performed entirely by himself, with the rare assistance by FIS members Beau and Dolus. 'No Horizon' was recorded in the winter of 2015 at Thugro Studios by Dolus McCormick and at MindRocket Recording by Josh Roman. Josh Roman once again mixed and mastered the record. Live shows are always in the works.
