Actually a late beginner, Phlo did not begin writing and recording raps till about the age of 20. The art always intrigued his imagination but he never really set out to try it till later. Through poetry and short stories etc,, growing up he always had a great sense of writing and putting thoughts together so it really came of no surprise. Phlo began to polish his skills by watching his step father (OG Mack) record and the repetition along with attention to detail it took in order to lay a track properly. Always a true hip hop head Phlo incorporated what he saw and learned and began to formulate this style of his own, people couldn't help but gravitate to. A blissful mix of story telling and clever punchlines leave the listener demanding more.
