Full Moon Blanket began many moons ago in the Kelly family garage. It wasn’t until they attended the University of Montevallo years later that they settled on the name Full Moon Blanket with bassist Raymond Close and vocalist Brian Gilreath. The name would become synonymous with the Kelly brothers as professional musicians and songwriters.
When Jon found work as a sound designer out-of state, Tim was determined to carry the torch with an acoustic act. After building a set list of covers and original songs with original guitarist Tucker White ( who dubbed the act “the Acousticats”), Tim recruited Victor Wilson on second guitar and Danielle Hardaman on Vocals to form an acoustic trio playing cover tunes and the original music of Full Moon Blanket. The sub-group began playing around town in acoustic venues, and built up enough new material to begin recording a new CD featuring the acousticats trio.
Upon Jon’s return to the Birmingham area, the Kelly brothers recruited Danielle, Victor, and bassist Eric Onimus to fill the lineup for the full band. Full Moon Blanket began playing again as a full band, using both new material from the Acousticats and fresh material written for the full band.
Built around the original music of Tim Kelly, Full Moon Blanket comes prepared for any venue or event. With the acousticats, Tim is available as a solo act, with Victor or Danielle as a duo, or with both as a trio. When playing as a full band, Full Moon Blanket can play as a power trio, a “classic four-piece” with Danielle on vocals, or as a dual-vocal, dual-guitar large band with Tim on vocals and guitar, Danielle on vocals, Victor on guitar, Eric Onimus on bass, and Jon Kelly on drums and percussion.
Through all the lineup changes and variations of the act, Full Moon Blanket remains consistently original and eager to play. With a focus on live performance and original, honest songwriting, Full Moon Blanket stands ready for literally anything.
