Cal Harris Jr. / Bio

Cal Harris Jr. is proud to announce the release of the highly anticipated "Shelter Island" CD. The follow-up to his breakaway debut album "Inside Out", has already produced a Billboard top 10 single... "Smooth" feat. Saxophonist Elan Trotman. "Shelter Island" features a collection of talent that includes seasoned A-list studio/touring musicians along with some of the hottest new Independent artists in Contemporary Jazz

Cal Harris Jr. has worked with such music monsters as Earth Wind and Fire, Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Whitney Houston, and Beyonce as a very sought after recording engineer, programmer, and keyboard player. Now he takes his abilities to the next level to reveal the gifted composer/arranger and producer within.

"Inside Out" the debut CD from Cal Harris Jr. boldly demonstrates his passion and talent for composition as well as his lifetime of priceless experiences in the industry. With 11 original songs he has created solid, seductive, and infectious melodies. Harris brought his work to life with the help of well-respected instrumentalists (and friends) Darrell Crooks, Yogi Lonich, Shem von Shreck, Harold Todd, Freddie Washington and Michael White.
The result is a fresh take on Contemporary and Smooth Jazz that has been on the charts since the release of the title cut in September 2010.

“To me a great song is one that when you hear it years later, you can remember what was going on in your life at the time because it touched you then and maybe even helped you get through. Songs like that have been a gift to me and I feel a responsibility to give that gift to others.”
