Originally formed in 2001 as an offshoot of a public access television show, PLC has always done things a little differently than most. Foregoing trends and conventions and ignoring popular conceptions of what rap music “should” sound like, PLC makes music their way. The duo of Mereness and Dirty D pride themselves in making creative, high-energy, aggressive music in a style they have dubbed “Hype Hop.” They released their first official recording, “PL3: The Mixtape” in 2004 and followed it up in 2005 with their second album “Double Penetration?”. In 2005 PLC were runners up in the Psychopathic Records Underground Psychos contest. Riding the momentum of the contest they embarked on the Serial MCs tour and then returned home to Minnesota to begin recording their most anticipated album to date. They released their latest studio album, “Hype Hop” in the summer of 2007. PLC tries to capture the energy and excitement of their live show in every album they make and will continue to do so while blending styles, bending genres, and leaving a wake of destruction behind them.
