Jordan Smart is not your average singer-songwriter. His pure approach to traditional americana music leaves some feeling like they have gone back in time. Armed with a set of beat-up harmonicas, a homemade kick drum, an acoustic guitar, banjo, and a voice like raw honey, he never ceases to captivate his audience.
Smart picked up the guitar at the young age of 11 years old, and has been singing since he can remember. He began performing when he was 16 and has since been in several bands of varying styles, ranging from punk and metal, to indie, folk, and bluegrass. Some say that Smart hails from Ohio, others know him to be a Californian, and there are those who believe he is from Colorado. Regardless of where he is originally from, one thing is for sure, he is a man of the road.
Today you can find him playing his songs in pubs, coffee shops, music venues, and on the streets of various cities. When he is not performing he is usually busy growing his beard and working on his debut solo album, "Drop in a Bucket" due out sometime in 2013.
Jordan dreams of one day taking his heartfelt music out of the United States, and around the world. He believes that he has ideas to share that people need to hear, and he isn't afraid to let his thoughts fall upon reluctant ears. In the meantime he will continue to create music that provokes thought, inspires, and resonates with people of all kinds.
