On the music player, all my solo material marked as Kirk Richter is all me performing all instruments, guitars, bass, drum programing, keys and vocals except as noted. With the exception of Matt Rozman on guitar on Stone Velvet Queen and Mark Jones plays lead guitar on Sands Of Time. Revelation and The Dark are me bass and vocals, the guitars and drums are players from around the world that we share tracks via the internet. All other tracks with other bands [Medisin Wheel, AKA, Kaos, Recoil, Wake of Destruction, Satans Basement] I perform bass duties and back up vocals. Ive written and played a variety of styles and genres as you will experience throughout the player. Ive always been very versatile as a musician.
Among many projects through my career, Satans Basement was a project the was most challenging and brings me back to my evil roots of metal. S.B. consisted myself on Bass, my son Justin Richter on drums, Chuck Moberg of Ballz Deluxe on Guitar and Ken Williams on Guitar. There is some basement video footage as well of these songs in my reverbnation profile and on my facebook in my pictures.
Something more radio friendly that was marketable and on the other side of the spectrum that I enjoyed was the band Recoil [www.reverbnation.com/drecoil and www.recoildetroit.com] This was the best to date I feel in terms of marketable mainstream that I got a chance to push the envelope to get somewhere in this business as something really marketable but so simple in terms of straight rock in your face and so the story goes.. It was a cool time. The song we wrote collectively, "Pink Band Aid" Is a magically produced and co wrote diddy with Chuck Alkazian of Pearl Sound. Impressive sounds.
My Main Bass, Electric Guitar, writing style and vocal influences of past and present: Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Dio, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Flotsam and Jetsam, Judas Priest, Testament, Rush, Billy Sheehan,
Stu Hamm/Satriani. My early vocal and writing influences growing up as a kid: The Beatles, Journey, Styx, Queen, Foriegner, Cheap Trick, Zepplin, Kiss. Then of course the 80's came along: Back then as a young teen and an aspiring singer/bassist in my first band at 15, I got into Dokken, Krokus, Ratt, Scorpions, Van Halen, Motley Crue Quiet Riot AC/DC, Wasp. Then my late teens, metal bit me in the ass finally! Thin Lizzy, Armored Saint, Accept. Anthrax, Savatage, Alcatrazz/Yngwie Malmsteen, Exodus, King Diamond/Merciful Fate, Metal Church, Trouble, Venom, Voivod, Celtic Frost, Metallica, Megadeth. I love alot of types of music. Classicial, blues, classic rock, death/black metal, thrash, funk, Jazz. But Im mostly a metal head and I probably left a few out, but thats all what pretty much molded me.
