WarCorpse was formed January 2009 in a small field town in Watsonville, Ca. Also known as Cursed for Eternity in their early debut, they changed band name to Warcorpse right in time for Watsonville's first ever Metal Festival;
S.C.U.M. FEST 2010 (Santa Cruz Underground Metal Festival 2010).
This band today consists of 5 dudes: Dan, Paul, Rikk, Josh and Ricardo .Co-founder Daniel on guitar, who's been playing to all sorts of distortion only to hook up with Co-founder Paul. With Dents on his fingertips, Paul historically played with Daniel on a lost project that included Ricardo (Weeven) on the four-string monster before 2009. Weeven jammed with the guitar players as days went by playing metal covers and original sounds till ending 2008. On the other side, drummer Peppers (Juan), hooked up with vocalist Rikk in 2001 and formed their first garage Thrash band with other friends only to die out 2 years later from member discontinuance. Peppers and Rikk officially came together again with Dan and Paul in early 2009 as Ricardo knew of the vocalist and drummer from long time friendship. Searching for a heavier sound, The boys knew that Rikk and Peppers would become the stamp to where the band stands now. Within 3 years, the band's hard work lands opening spots with Thrash icons Warbringer and Bonded By Blood.
Santa Cruz's A Band of Orcs is another one of the few great bands that have shredded with the band on past events in the area. Like other many local bands, WarCorpse was one band that saw a member change coming.
Drummer Peppers stepped out of the band in late 2012 for personal reasons. Now Stalling on their tracks to go forward, quick and serious interviews followed, Josh "the kid" became the next drummer, "Josh fit perfect for the band's thrash-groove sound and came in taking over Peppers seat by Nov. 2012", WarCorpse says.
Overall , this group has been exploding with chugging riffs, real catchy leads, and unpredictable heavy drums and vocals in the Bay Area. Poisoning shows for a real short time, they may have already created a monster in sleeping mode. With a true to the gut feeling from this bands’ music and a strong stage performance, they grab attention from the furthest backside of local venues to the dedicated metal-heads up front that heavily fist and grunt out "For your Blood", lyrics from “Call of the Curse”. WarCorpse is currently working on recording and releasing their first LP very soon.
I’m Head banging to “Cold Flesh for the Soulless Man”, seeming to be local fan's favorite. From a demo,
slow-medium riffs intro goes right into a Fast verses relating 80's and 90's heaviness down to the super slow
outro that can traditionally sore up anyone's swinging neck . "Small independent studio recorded demos is what we have now", the band says , "Times are tough, but this is only the beginning”, claims Daniel. “We are becoming one,
as brothers!" "Now we have a true sound and a serious passion as we are covering bigger shows".
A fan themselves of the heavy local Santa Cruz Co. scene , the boys usually get caught up with the rest of the
metal-heads head-banging in local shows, "That bond will only grow stronger", Rikk adds. "Every body loves music in our circle of friends, we support all music“. "Because without you guys, we are nothing”. Currently these guys are seeking to play on new grounds, Party with new souls and destroy all crossing their path to success. Not stopping anytime soon, Paul says, “We love to keep songs sounding as fresh as possible. Every minute that passes, we get sucked in as new sounds bring original nostalgic creativity”.
