Julia Wade is a Classical Crossover performer and recording artist whose work spans musical genres from classical to Broadway to pop. She has performed nationally and internationally in musical theatre, opera, cabaret, and concert work, including such venues as The Rome Opera, Carnegie Hall and NYC’s Don’t Tell Mama, as well as touring Inspirational concerts nationally.
As a recording artist, Julia has six solo inspirational CDs to date, including the perennial favorite, Story For The Ages, Julia’s Spanish release, Alabado sea Dios, and her classic recording, Upon The Mountain. Her recent CD, entitled Every Day, was the feature project that began the Watchfire Music Listening Room, a most successful concert series in New York City.
Julia is proud to release her newest inspirational CD, Solos, a gorgeous set of new songs perfect for meditational listening. This CD is revolutionary and inspiring to many because the lyrics to the 12 songs are drawn directly from the prose writings of Mary Baker Eddy, a great spiritual thinker. These texts are set to truly innovative contemporary music by Julia’s producer and principal songwriter, Peter Link.
Solos came as a direct result of Julia’s 7-year experience as Soloist at the international headquarters for a major international church. As Soloist at the international church headquarters, Julia performed each Sunday in two services, which were broadcast live on the internet. Additionally, Julia also sang in Spanish in the Spanish Services, which were also broadcast to an international audience.
Julia had the honor to be a guest vocalist on a tremendous recording project by Peter Link called Goin’ Home – On Heaven and Beyond. Julia sang Grammy Award Winner Julie Gold’s haunting song, “Come To Me As A Bird” to close the CD. Goin’ Home included Jenny Burton, Tom Tipton, Catherine Russell, Barry Danielien, and a gospel choir composed of New York’s top session singers. Paul Zollo, reviewer for AmericanSongwriter.com wrote, “[Come To Me As A Bird is] performed exquisitely by the wonderful Julia Wade, whose heartbreakingly crystalline soprano and soaring passion matches the purity of the song’s spirit.”
Julia’s work on television and internet broadcasts include her performance of Lady In The Dark at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Italy on RAI TV. Julia also performed at The 13th Annual Movie Guide Awards just before Jim Caveziel won for Best Actor in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of The Christ. Finally, one of Julia’s favorite projects to date is her live performance of “Siyahamba” -- before a crowd of several thousand -- along with a live broadcast video presentation of communities singing “Siyahamba” around the world.
