My name is Brelan Brown. I've been an acoustic recording artist now for going on 8 years. I am 21 years old now and am engaged to the most wonderful woman in the world, April Brown. She is my muse, my musical inspiration that I can always look to. I've been with her now for 4 years (it'll be 5 this October 1st). Going active and seriously playing live again was her suggestion. I'd always thought about it but if the decision had stayed only with me it likely wouldn't have happened. I have her to thank for my "second wind".
The first time around, I performed regularly in Winston-Salem, NC at a coffee shop called Sand's Coffee Bar. The small but comfortable shop though has since been bought out and turned into the city's most popular new Skybar. These days though I tend to play private venues and shows and advertise the venue to friends and friends of friends via my primary Facebook.
I really love playing cover songs. I feel that my music is always growing and evolving over time as a result of the many different styles of songs that I cover. From the softness of Jack Johnson all the way to the modified hardstyle acoustic of Disturbed. I love doing cover songs and giving my own twist to some of them, or picking some that would seem difficult for me. I like to challenge myself in that way and overcome that challenge in order to expand my style and vocal ability even moreso.
I love playing music for people, especially large crowds, because of the energy that comes off of the audience. The butterflies in my stomach, the roar of the crowd during a popular songs. Even the uncertainty that I will even be able to do it! It all drives me forward makes me want to play the show more! If at any time though that I ever think that I can't do it though, I know that April is always there to pick me right back up again.
If you have a request for a song you'd like to hear me cover then please don't hesitate to message me about it. Also, I tend to collaborate with other local artists so keep an eye out for collaboration covers, songs, shows, and videos. ^.^
