Kill the Broadcast / Bio

Music is all about connection.

And, when you corral four guys together in a band aimed at creating a lyrical sound that inspires and moves listeners, you're bound to secure that connection that music breeds.

Formed in the fall of 2009, Kill the Broadcast has been gaining on the regional scene, racking up live gigs that span the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia areas, performing as four-time favorites at Musikfest and knocking out killer shows at Philly mainstays like, The Legendary Dobbs, North Star Bar and The Grape Room.

The band's unique sound and lyrical depth stems from the diverse musical interests of its members, whose stylistic influences include the post punk sounds of Richard Hell and the Voidoids, the raw genius of Led Zeppelin, the manic energy of At The Drive In, the elegant and progressive nature of Radiohead and the pop sensibilities of R.E.M.

Music fans looking to connect with an original act from the area will enjoy the band's first EP, "16 Hours", which debuted in July, and has already garnered attention from local rock radio station, WZZO, which selected Kill the Broadcast as its winning band for its 24th annual Backyard Bands competition.

With its unique blend of lyric poetry and catchy alt-pop sensibilities, Kill the Broadcast continues to be recognized as a band to keep on your musical radar … catch them live at a show near you, and soak up all that new material that hasn't yet been recorded.
