LAURIE LEHNER (pron. Lay-ner) is a soul rock singer and songwriter living in New Orleans, Louisiana. With Ani DiFranco lyrics, Alanis Morissette vocal abandon, she invokes Joss Stone and Adele while intertwining the vulnerability of Fiona Apple to create a catalog of work that is entirely her own. Her lyric-heavy rock ballads play against her lighter, sometimes humorous, modern folk tunes. Both cryptic and revealing, she exposes her raw emotions with a powerful, soulful voice. Miss Lehner writes many of her songs in reflection of her unique life as a modern Rock n Roll Groupie and joined The Plastics Professional Groupies© in 2013 at the behest of founder Lexa Vonn and completed her first Northeast-area tour in April of 2014.
Laurie was personally invited by Boyd Tinsley (Dave Matthews Band) to open for him twice in NYC (2012-13) and continues to be grateful for the support of one of her top musical idols.
Laurie Lehner is a mold-breaker. Her passionate intensity, genuine self and disarming humor undeniably prevail onstage. She can been seen weekly on Friday and Saturday nights performing with Bourbon Bandstand's house cover band, VooDoo Candy, on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
