Neil’s ability to write lyrical-rich songs with infectious melodies can be attributed to his Louisville, Kentucky upbringing. He received an invaluable musical education early in childhood while listening to the many Country Music legends featured in his parents’ album collection. It was classic country songs to which Neil gravitated as he learned to play guitar during high school. Furthermore, it was while attending the University of Kentucky, when Neil discovered songwriters such as Steve Earle, Chris Knight and John Prine. Their music quickly inspired Neil to try his hand at writing his own songs and eventually move to Nashville shortly after graduation.
Since moving to Nashville, Neil has built an impressive catalog of songs by writing with many of the town’s most talented songwriters and music artists. Neil's song, "Tailgate Blues" was recently recorded by Capitol recording artist, Luke Bryan, for his album "Tailgates and Tanlines" on sale August 9, 2011. More importantly, Neil has built an amazing family along with his wife, Robyn. Neil proudly shares the gift of music with his two beautiful daughters, Sophie and Georgia.
