The Hi-Tones are a high energy rockabilly/swing band based in London, Ontario. They have earned a reputation as one of the most exciting live acts around. The core band originally formed in January 2007 under the name of ‘Duke Sedan and the Hi-Tones’, with founding members Paul Wickerson, Mike Sheehan and Stephen Heighington. They took the local scene by storm playing straight-up rockabilly. The band reached some milestones during this time. Their self-titled demo attained #1 in 2007 on the annual new music chart at CHRW Radio Western, they made a splash with print in the London Free Press, Scene and The Londoner. They also received special featured play on CBC Radio and performed an unofficial “farewell to the Brunswick” concert in London, playing to 150 ppl outside the venue after demolition had started.
In the fall of 2009, the three founding members branched out to expand their rockabilly sound and include swing in the mix. They parted ways with their singer, renamed the band The Hi-Tones and brought on board Dana and Cole, who had played as backing musicians for various shows. The new line up made their stage debut to a packed house at the Richmond Hotel. In 2010, the Hi-Tones played public, corporate and private shows around South Western Ontario. Highlights included performing at the BIOSHOCK 2 Launch Party and being invited to play the East End Rockabilly Riot in Toronto.
The band is planning a CD release in the Summer of 2013.
