First of all, my voice is natural. I never had a voice lesson, so if I make mistakes, that's why! lol
In the last couple of years, Cancer has struck so many of my family members, as well as my close friends. That's why 10% of every CD or download is donated to the American Cancer Society. I want to do my part to eradicate this horrible disease from the face of the earth.
Singing is just like breathing to me. I love all kinds of music but never had enough confidence to pursue a career in the music industry. I started out doing musicals in little theatre and loved it. I sang in high school, folk groups and choirs. After school, I got involved with the Chorale Societies, several Civic Choruses and Little Theatre groups. I was the soloist for my church and sang for all the weddings for many years. My family continued to grow and life took over. I was diagnosed with MS after my third child and could no longer perform. By the grace of God, the disease went into remission after a few years and I've been healthy for many years now. I never had a voice lesson. I've come to accept my voice as a gift from God. I also enjoy writing lyrics and melodies and I have several original songs which I've written. A couple of years ago, I was fortunate to work with some wonderful people in the Boston area and I made a CD with many beautiful song standards and stellar arrangements. If you have the time, please check out the clips from the links. I welcome all feedback. This was something that was always on my bucket list and I'm so grateful I was able to accomplish it. The next thing to do is to record my originals which I've had to put on the back burner for now. I'm the sole caregiver for my mom now, who had a stroke last year, moved in with me, and was recently diagnosed with first stage of dementia. I don't get much time to sing anymore or listen to others. Singing has become my brief respite from the stressful situation that I live with day in and day out.
