R.T. Brown ('Brown') is a Reggae singer and songwriter from Jamaica. He grew up in Kingston but now lives in St. Catherine. He began singing when he was an Elementary School Student.
Later, he spent many years singing in an all male acapella gospel group. This group (ACTS), was very successful throughout Jamaica. In 2000, his group entered the Caribbean song festival held in Curacao. They won the most gold medals in that competition (best quintet, best song, best performance & best dressed). Eventually the group disbanded and he went on to pursue his interest in reggae.
In 2005, 'Brown' formed a group called I-manii. I-manii focused their attention on conscious and spiritual messages. His group has sung on events with John Holt, Dean Frazer, Fab Five, Benjy Myaz, A.J Brown and others.
After recording I-manii's debut album, Brown decided to sing solo also. He has written many “lover’s rock” songs but only recorded 5 singles for his new CD: “Missing you babe”, “Love so fine”, “Love will find a way”, “Special moments” & “Do without you”.
In 2008, Brown performed on the annual “Reggae Breeze” festival in Aichi ken (headlined by Ninja Man from Jamaica and popular Japanese artistes Mighty Crown, Pushim, Moomin, Minmi, Ryo the Skywalker, Nanjaman & Stoned Rockers ). He was also guest artiste at a few clubs in Nagoya and Nagasaki.
His most recent performances include a Spring festival (March, 2011) held at Morikoro Park in Aichi Ken, (Japan) . It was a fund raiser in aid of the tsunami and earthquake victims in Japan; also ‘May Fiesta’ held in Isahaya, Nagasaki.
Presently, Brown continues to promote his positive love songs in, and outside of Jamaica.
