I started playing flute in 1974 , influenced by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull and later switch to the saxophone, I played in hundreds of Rock an Blues bands as a sideman in Orange County and Los Angeles. Also played for two years in a College jazz band. As a Saxophone player my major influences are Jhon Coltrane and Klaus Doldinger. I studied with Don Hawkins from the Stan Kenton and Woody Herman jazz orchestras. Other major influences were Vitas Brenner and Chick Corea. I was a member of King Biko X a very intense Blues/Fusion group whose music director was Tenor Saxophonist Riney Bryson from the Los Angeles Philarmonic. Some of the band members were bassist Steve Wren, Boby Edla, Wayman Davis, Gene Anderson, Fufu and Trumpet player Nito Reyes. As a member of King Biko X. I participated in performances with bands such as Fishbone, The Red Hot Chili Pepers, British jazz giant Stan Tracey, pianist Louis Macmullan, Katie Perry, the Jimmy McConel Jazz orchestra, and The Victory Outreach band with over 100 singers. I also play piano and compose Jazz music. I was producer of my first Fusion CD called Peter Assing Electric, and was Associate Producer with an independent artist Jay Abella with sideman of Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder and Hubert Laws, and Pianist Chris Ho from the Temptations. I have also played with Gospel singer Ross Vercammen recorded with guitarist Larry Treadwell on one of Silver Streak Lady's song, guitarist Larry Contreras and Jimmy 7songs formerly with the pop group The Mike Curb congregation. I am presently working on my third musical production.
