Spinning Red is a Chicago hard rock band. Banded together and writing music since February 2010; Spinning Red has been showing Chicago how they rock with their intense live energy and carefully composed songs. Spinning Red’s music touches on a whole plethora of subjects and story lines seamlessly bridging the dreadfully real and the incomprehensibly abstract -from the “Stop and Go” like relationships we experience throughout our lives to the alien man-eater called "Judy Two Moons”.
This exciting band is composed of vocalist/poet Mark Burd, guitar virtuoso/songsmith extraordinaire Arthur Rento, bass guitarist/powerhouse rocker Brendan L. English, and power drummer/demolition expert Jeff Iversen. Each member of the band perfectly compliments each other’s playing and writing styles.
One of the most unique aspects of Spinning Red is that all members of the band write the music. It is an extraordinary combination of eclectic musical backgrounds, expertise and energy that creates their catchy music.
Since the summer of 2012, Spinning Red has played at many reputable rock venues in the Chicagoland area. They were finalists in Quest Broadcasting's Battle of the EFFN Rock concert competition, semi-finalists in WGN's Breakthrough Rock Band Contest, and headliners for Chicago Acoustic Underground's first ever CAU Rocks Showcase. Spinning Red also recorded and self-released their eponymous EP which can downloaded on iTunes, Amazon, and various other websites.
