Suthurn Swaggur is a Southern Rock inspired band based out of Nashville, Tennessee. The founding members, Jeff Agia and Joey Dawson, both Florida natives, met in college at Full Sail University while pursuing their Bachelors Degrees in Recording Arts. They soon realized they had many things in common which included their eclectic taste in music, goals, interests and influences. They both wanted to write original music so they decided to start writing songs together. This then quickly led to them wanting to perform that original music which eventually led to the start of the band Suthurn Swaggur.
They both had a great affinity for Southern Rock as well as other musical genres. Southern Rock was the foundation for their sound but they wanted to incorporate blues, classic rock, alternative, pop, country and even hip-hop influences. Drawing from their varied backgrounds in music, they began forging their own sound and style and soon had dozens of songs written.
Jeff is an accomplished guitar player and music producer and writes the music and arrangements for their songs. He also has experience in creating hip-hop and even worked at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Studios, where he learned about film scoring. Joey writes the lyrics and melodies for the songs. He got his start as a DJ and even toured the country with a signed band as their turntablist creating sounds, scratches and phrases from individual pieces of vinyl to create a completely new and unique sound effect. Adding turntablism to their songs created their own sound that has never been done before in this type of music.
Suthurn Swaggur is a band on the rise. They are beginning to attract the attention of record labels and talent agencies for their ability to write catchy songs and putting on rockin' live shows. Their goals are to get signed, tour and share their music with the world.
