Negative One has been together since late 2008. The line up overcame huge changes in its early development dismembering 4 musicians, the only original members left are Oscar, and Troy.
The bands name Negative One stuck like a box of rocks for rhythm guitar player Troy Peak after having a very elusive conversation with a cat by the name of Davey. "I was asking him what should the new band name be, and he suggested the name "Negative One". Davey said, "You seem to always be negative one person, and negative all the time about life. Not only that, but we always seem to be absent one person to make us happy whether its a lover, mother, father, or a band member to complete the line up.
The sound of Negative One is what we like to call NuRock. Its a mix of NuMetal and Hard Rock together. Disturbed, Sevendust, Seether, Trivium, Metallica are few of many influences you will hear when taking a close listen to Negative One. We are originating a sound that crosses genres, sticks to your soul and makes you want to bang your head all in one song. By doing this it enables a wide variety of listeners to enjoy our music across the board.
With Peak's harsh texture style of song writing, Zero's ridiculously amazing guitar playing, Esquivel and Stiles setting the tone, and Oscar's melodic lyrics about relationships and his battles with his demons, Negative One has created a formula and sound like no other.
