Deriving their name from the block on the south side of Chicago where they both grew up, The Paxtons strive to create innovative and timeless music that surpasses trends and bends genres.
In 2008, The Paxtons released their first mixtape, MEMBERS ONLY; a collection of freestyles and original material that showcased their witty and poignant lyrics over a spectrum of beats by artists ranging from Rick Ross to Kenna. They returned nine months later with their full-length debut, WORK. The album, produced in its entirety by members, Chris and Dave, received critical acclaim and coverage by a dizzying number of music web sites and blogs, including many of those featured on XXL and Vibe Magazine's respectively coveted Top lists. Broadcast and internet radio stations as far away as Australia also took notice of The Paxtons' music which helped them bring their energy-filled live show to fans all over the US.
Partnering with premier sneaker and streetwear brands Ubiq and Atmos as well as leading music and lifestyle web site, the Smoking Section to release WORK, helped The Paxtons grow their brand exponentially in 2009. This year, the recent New York transplants are poised to further take the industry by storm with the release of The Manhattan Project.
