Halifax singer/songwriter Lynnea Rose is charming her way into the hearts of folk and country fans alike. Fresh out of the studio with award winning producer/engineer Scott Ferguson, Lynnea’s self titled debut album is a compilation of beautifully written Celtic-infused folk songs with a pinch of pop and country.
Born and raised in Annapolis Royal Nova Scotia, it isn’t hard to hear where Lynnea's musical influences lie. Her Celtic heritage and deep connection to the East Coast is clearly evident, as demonstrated in “Carries the Weight” from her debut album “Lynnea Rose”; “For even when life is heartless and unkind, there’s peace to be found in the Maritimes”. Aside from her Celtic/maritime influences, Lynnea is inspired by a vast array of folk and country artists including Alison Krauss and Union Station, Amos Lee and James Taylor, and has been compared stylistically to The Rankins and Alison Krauss.
Currently gaining airplay across Canada with her first single "Cinderella", Lynnea Rose is quickly becoming recognized as a rising star in the East Coast music scene. After a recent interview with Meganova Music, Lynnea Rose was described as "a strong lyricist and musician presenting rich melody and intriguing storytelling reminiscent of Kathy Mattea and Nanci Griffith". They furthered to say that "Her Debut CD 'Lynnea Rose’ is a treasure piece of what will be in the legacy of Eastern Canada’s contribution to Country Music. Meanwhile, her live performance will delight you in knowing you are in the presence of a new star." -Meganova Music.
