Hi, My name is Alan Ballard, On my space, I am Guitarzan and the fretters. I picked that name because I didn't have a band, it was just me.So I decided I would be called Guitarzan and since my fingers were all over the fretboard, they would be called the fretters. Thus the name. I live around Asheville,North Carolina. I have a wife and two children,
I have been always playing my music and writing. But because I had a season of having kids and changing diapers, I was not able to record any new things. But I'm gettin back to recording, and have been back for the past year. My last album "One Breath at a Time" was an album pretty much about Heartbreak. Since My Ex and I were separated at the time. This new album I hope brings a new vibe and mindset. I'm tired of doing songs about Lost Love and Lost Hope. God and Life are good. So I hope you hear that when you listen.
I love music. I try to duplcate the feeling's I get, into my music and am always thinking of something new that might could contribute to my effort. I hope you enjoy what little I've done on here. There's more to come, for sure.
I would like to add. That my father just passed away Dec. 29th, 2011. I would like to dedicate these songs in his honor. I loved my dad. He's the reason I wanted a guitar in the first place. I'd hear him playing on his guitar ever since I was a baby and Jammin or trying to on my Mickey Mouse guitar at the age of 3. I eventually took lessons and was able to really Jam with my father on guitar, many many times. I'm thankful for the man he was. And that he instilled so many good things in me. I'm gonna miss him for sure.I really wish He had been able to hear my last album. I had given him a copy. But he fell shortly after that. And was in the hospital until he passed away. But I know that he's up there in heaven singing to God with his Angels. I know my music can't even come anywhere close to topping that. So that's awesome for him.
But I hope everyone can relate in some way or another to my music. I wanted this newer material to be more positive than my older material. I hope you all enjoy. Thank you
