The Knollwood Boys are a five-piece band from Indianapolis. Together since July 2010, they have played many shows in central Indiana, Nashville, and Chicago. They look forward to branching out to the rest of Indiana, and beyond.
Their eclectic style lacks classification, but we'll call it Rock Folk Funk -- full of good vibes, laid-back, and danceable.
They competed in, and won, the 5th annual Acoustic Live Challenge in Spring 2011 (though they typically play electric). Other venues have included Indymojo.com's Mojostock, Guage Magazine's Slamology Car Show, Cottage Home Fest, and Broadripple Music Fest.
The band is Kit Clouser [guitar, vocals], Steve Webb [bass, vocals], Nate Aydelotte [percussion], Quin Starks [lead guitar, vocals], and Brent Bockelman [guitar, vocals]. Webb, Bockelman, and Clouser have played together, informally, since 2007. In the summer of 2010, Clouser brought them together, along with Aydelotte, for a one-time show at Applebees in Broadripple. The show went so well they they kept it going. Long-time friend and multi-instrumentalist Starks joined in summer 2012. They continue to grow as a group and add to an ever-growing fan-base.
In early 2011, the boys recorded an album, 'See Us Now,' with Nick Winn of Winn Studios at the helm. The album can be found on iTunes and CDbaby.com. The group spent much of fall 2012 in the studio, again with Winn, and released a self-titled album in April 2013.
