Hi Y'all! I'm back in the studio!!!

A restless heart and devotion to music has made Mary Fagan a true original with wide influences. The 1930's songs of Billie Holiday and Fats Waller float playfully from her guitar and vocals as well as blues, folk and rock songs. Backing herself solidly on piano or guitar, this modern American troubadour moves seamlessly from jazz to folk, blues and rock. Her original songs run the gamut as well. You can see her solo, duo or with a group. She has a Honky-Tonk band in Austin, an Americana band in North Carolina and performs with her trio and several jam-bands in New Hampshire. With influences that include Duke Ellington and The Grateful Dead, it's impossible to fit her into any one musical category but no matter what style of music she is playing, her voice will captivate you. It dances back and forth from raspy to smooth, as if it were forged in the blues and then dipped in velvet.
Music has always been part of life for Fagan. Her earliest memory is playing some notes on the old upright piano at the family farmhouse. She was sitting on her sister's lap so that she was close enough to reach the keys. Both her parents played piano and encouraged her with piano lessons at home and music in school band on the flute. At The University of New Hampshire she took a break from schooled music to earn a BS in Math and a BA in Political Science. It was there, too that she picked up the guitar. It's portability suits her quite well. She's traveled most of the US, with long stints in Colorado, California, North Carolina, New England and Austin, Texas, soaking up musical styles and flavors along the way.
Whether with a group or accompanying herself on piano or guitar, her performances are striking. She is both gritty and pure, her winsome style that could give a gray sky the blues.
