Deception Theory was co founded In 2006 by guitarist Pat Christopher and guitarist Josh. The New Jersey based group began to join the metal scene in March of 2007 with bassist Andrew Salvatore and brothers Jay and Jeremy Markowsky. Jay being responsible for vocals and Jeremy responsible for the drum kit. Selling near 90 tickets for the first show the quintuple was off to an impressive start.
Excited about the recording the founding originates of the group were hesitant but forced to address a necessary line up change. Jeremy soon revealed that he could no longer maintain his responsibilities through the recording process. Theory was forced to scrap the recording and except the set back. Shortly afterwards Deception Theory met with percussionist Vin Keohan. With the right mentality and skilled performance Vin was just the talent D.T. was looking for. Within 3 practices the band was back on the road playing shows, writing, and planning for a single. Not long after Vin joined the project vocalist Jay Markowsky decided his run with the band had come to an end. Jay hung up his mic and went on to raise a family while Deception Theory continued playing shows with temporary vocalist Casey of Body Rot. Accompanying acts such as Viscous Circle, Catalepsy, Super Christ, Sirens for Sailors, The Adept, To the Lions, and many other great bands. Two months after losing Jay D.T. stumbled upon vocalist Keith Lambe ) former front man of Vicious Betrayal. Accompanied by Lambe was bassist Ant Conte with the new duo the line up was officially complete. Without stalling the band continued taking the stage of clubs such as Frangelicas, Villaris, The Gun Club, The troc, Lamours Rocks, and more.
