Love of Rose began as a pen name for me in college. I played acoustic guitar and wrote a myriad of songs all during that time. After college, I continued to write music, but lacked the proper means to share the music I composed. Eight years later I learned of advancements in home recording (especially economic improvements) and decided to pursue music more hardcore than ever. Thus a hobby became a beast. To my amazement, people started to tell me that my music sounded very professional.
In a fit of inspiration, I released two albums in 2010, "The Red Days" and "Papa Heavy." While I was happy with the songs, my perfectionist side required more in recording quality. A combination of recording studio upgrades and experimentation lead me to create my first polished album "The Attitude of 13" in 2011. "The Attitude of 13" bought me to the level of a professional recording studio's quality. I still try to make things sound a little better though!
Currently, I am working on two more albums, "Create, Destroy, Perfect" and "Songs Melissa Likes." "Create, Destroy, Perfect" will be a hard rock/metal album diving into extended range guitars which I've fallen in love with. "Songs Melissa Likes" will show the softer side of Love of Rose with a stripped down acoustic and orchestrated approach to my songs.
