Ben Erickson writes songs about the things he experiences and reads. He sings and plays them on the guitar until they're ready to be performed on stage. Then he calls up the clubs or someone calls him and the show gets booked. When the date that he's booked arrives, Ben drives to the club with his guitar. He plays the show, and if it goes well he usually sticks around for an hour or two. Then he drives home.
When Ben's feeling ambitious he sets up all the gear he owns in a quiet room. He comes up with some arrangements and records his songs. There are a lot of good sounds in Ben's keyboard. His recordings don't always come out great but sometimes they're pretty special.
Ben also does other things that have nothing to do with this web promo page. This page is meant to allow you to hear his recordings and inform you as to when and where he will be performing. If you are unsure about attending, there are some helpful videos that can prepare you for the live experience. There are some superfluous items as well such as photos of Ben and a list of artists he admires. I assume these things are meant to be "ice-breakers" should you want to start a conversation with him at the next show- "Hey Ben, is that the same guitar you were photographed with at Neverending Books?", etc.
Ben Erickson also answers to "B", "Benny", and "Grinder".
