Long-time victim of musical wanderlust, Casey Thomas breathes new life into songs long forgotten.
After croonin’ in California, swingin’ in New York, jammin’ in Chicago and funkin’-it-up in New Orleans, Casey brings it on home to Boston with a gumbo of sound rich & uplifting & soul-satisfying. Having entertained audiences at intimate jazz cafes & bustling street-corners, at raucous beer-halls & in off-Broadway plays, Casey has been shaking up the Cabaret scene with his always eclectic blend of jazz, blues, roots and rock ‘n roll.
Most recently, Casey has been experimenting with songs inspired by the Mississippi River - including modern takes on traditional folk & the earliest of jazz songs combined with “unplugged” versions of Memphis blues and New Orleans funk. The result is an invigorating & inspirational adventure about overcoming adversity and finding happiness through humor & grace.
A native of Worcester and resident of Framingham, Casey has performed at Nick’s Bar & Restaurant in Worcester, The Harvest Café in Hudson, The Acton Jazz Café in Acton, The Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham, The First Parish of Watertown, The Cantab Lounge in Cambridge and The Encore Lounge in Boston. In collaboration with Bristol Studios of Boston and Massachusetts performing artists like Patrice Peris, Dale Lepage and Erin Ollis, Casey has performed at fundraisers for the Coats For Kids Foundation, the Special Olympics, the James Nugent Foundation, Project Bread, the American Cancer Society and the Central Mass South Chamber of Commerce Festival of Giving Trees. Treasurer for the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists since 2011, Casey also acts as co-organizer for & participant in BACA’s monthly open-mics, quarterly outreach showcases and yearly Cabaret festival.
