HONEYBOY CARENCRO the New Orleans, LA native keeps it simple. He picked up a guitar, learned how to play it and started writing songs. If you need a more descriptive version of his past. Sorry, he is not into talking about abut musical pedigree and all that jazz.
What he will talk about is his latest release AIR I BREATH. The 6 song E.P. that is his latest effort. A stripped down acoustic collection of LOVE songs he wrote over a 3 month period. "It's just me, myself & I on this record." sighs HONEYBOY
I don't have a back story to tell you about how he did it, only thing we can say is he decided to not try to be all fancy and spend an obsessive amount of hours at some swanky recording studio with auto tune machines and super over paid producers.
This e.p. is an intimate affair with one guitar, one microphone and a few overdubs across the entire record. " I needed to release my emotions without the gloss of over producing. I wanted to hear the wood of the guitar and if I did not quite hit the perfect pitch for a vocal on a song, I was cool with it because it was real." says HONEYBOY
AIR I BREATH is a collection of LOVE songs with many faces and many different colors musically even though it was all done on acoustic guitar. The vivid emotions released through his playing and singing on these tracks inspire the mind to wonder in thought. Listening to them help you create a mental picture that carry's you on his every word.
"I wanted this record to be like a movie but only orally not visually, I try to make colors from music notes not cameras" barks HONEYBOY
Tracks like 'LOVE' and AIR I BREATH provide the listener with space to travel into the song and revel in their own relationships with their loved ones. And the other tracks take you to similar places only if you can use your imagination to propel you into your own never land.
"I don't know if I will ever do another full band record, I think I want to tour around with just my guitar, in a van with my heart on my shoulder and my mind on being on stage surrounded by like minded individuals who believe in LOVE!
AIR I BREATH January 1, 2013.
